I want to live here...

I need some cheering up and these images are just the ticket.
I love these houses and their gorgeous bits of fun :) The pink house
below was snapped by photographer Marianne Kjølner in Denmark.

I love a bit of wonk too... aren't these trees amazing? This picture was
taken by Kurt Manley. It reminds me of the Cat in the Hat movie :)

Re: feeling blue... I'm not allowed to talk about what's happening on
"public forums" but perhaps I can hint that nasty things are happening
with my shop.

Soon to be Creative Space

Things will (hopefully) be looking a lot clearer around here now... I've finally bought a new camera! I love it :) Is it too shallow to love it as much for it's gorgeous blue colour as for what it can do?
You'll find people being actually creative and not at all shallow over at Kirsty's ;)

Photography: Franck Juery

I am so excited by this wonderful find - the work of Frank Juery has fired my imagination. There's something innocent and unaffected about his photography which connects straight to all of my hazy childhood memories. He uses a combination of Polaroid and toy cameras to achieve this effect of part retro narrative and part childhood nostalgia. It reminds me of the wonderful creations by this fabulous blogger. So fresh and full of adventure, don't you think? Have a peek at his website to see more of Juery's fantasmagorical worlds.

NYC dreaming :)

I've just happened upon these amazing photos - all by James and Karla Murray - and by some freaky coincidence we've been chatting about New York all night... We've been over at my sister's home for dinner and she and her partner are going to NYC very soon. We'll be looking after their two gorgeous little boys who are 5 and 3 years old... it will certainly be a shock to our all-girl-child household! They are just wonderful kids, the cousins adore each other and it'll be school holidays, so I'm not worried... really ;)

Inspiration: Shadow dancing

It's fascinating the effects that can be achieved with photography. They inspire me in themselves. I remember reading as part of my art history studies the debate in photography's early days about whether it could be considered art... I guess it's always been a startling medium, but how could one ever doubt its status on viewing these whimsical moving images by Greek photographer Vangelis Paterakis. It's been described as 'art of the senses' and that definitely resonates with me :) See more of Paterakis' works here.

Birdy + Burke

Absolutely loving this gorgeous Cream Magazine editorial – a collaboration between Australians Kelly Smith (illustrator) and Macushla Burke (photographer). Found via the ever-inspiring Poppytalk.

More Maurice!

Sorry, but I suddenly just had to show more of Maurice Sheltens amazing photos. This series, another magazine shoot for mens knitwear in 2007. As before, you can find his photos here. Also, forgot to thank 2 or 3 things for leading me here.

Eclipse: Maurice Sheltens

Eclips Kite

Eclips Ball

Eclips Light

The photography of Maurice Sheltens is such a wonderful find. It was so hard to choose, but I do really like the quirky theming of his Eclipse series. Most of his work is for magazines, so you might recognise some of them. Enjoy!
