Giveaway Winner :)

We've had a birthday in the house. The Little One turned 12 yesterday and had a
sleepover party last night to celebrate... of course there was very little sleeping ;)

Anyway, birthday girls still get to do the choosing... and she chose the gravity-
bound-randomness of the throw-everything-in-the-air method...

... I think this bit of paper chose itself actually by being the only one to fall
into her hands after the throw...

CONGRATULATIONS JO from Luna Landing!! Very happy that these cushions
will be finding a home with you :)

Thanks everyone for participating and thanks for all your lovely blogiversary wishes :)

Everything in 3s GIVEAWAY

Have I told you about our new friend? He just arrived one day and has stayed.
Funnily enough, this happens a bit here... cats just adopt us, don't know why ;)
Anyway, it's been three months since this gorgeous boy arrived and we're very
fond of him :)

He's also adopted one of my cushions (don't worry I've pulled it from the shop!)
I'd kind of already decided I was going to keep this one for myself as it was the
first one I made and special to me for that...

Anyway.... I also seem to be making a habit of missing anniversaries...
April 10th marked my third year of blogging and of 3 Sheets.
So, better late than never I'm going to have a giveaway.

These two matching crochet triangle cushions will be the prize. It's open to both
local and international peeps, but I would like you to be either a follower of the
3 Sheets blog or the 3 Sheets facebook page.

What do you think? Would you like these cushions? Tell your friends!
Winner randomly selected on Sunday 6th May :)

Thanks so much to everyone who entered my giveaway of the new-to-me crochet

I haven't been able to get the random generator widget to show the winning number,
so apologies for lack of verification... you'll just have to trust me that lady luck chose...
lucky number 27!

Congratulations to Belinda from Gretchenmist :) I'll be emailing you soon.

The gorgeous paper garland in the background there is by 3 Girls and a Goat.
Hope you have a lovely weekend everyone :)

500 Giveaway!

                                                          *
                                                       *

Last month I hit my 500th post. It was a busy time so the postponed celebrations
are happening now :)              * *
                                                          *
                                                    *
                                                       *
I'm giving away my new (to me) crochet technique cushion. It's made from the
Australian yarn, Biggan Design DK Merino in natural, yellow, aqua, olive and brown.
It's super soft and cuddly and it has no knots from the yellow up (sorry, the experiment
started at that point ;) The back of the cushion is a citrus-coloured cotton/linen with a
zip, and it comes with a 3 Sheets custom-made insert.

                                                 * *
                                                       *

                                                           * *
                                                       *

It'd make a great neck pillow for reading in bed or to place in the small of your back
for extra support...

                                                          *

* * * * * *      * * * * * *      * * * * * *      * * * * * *      * * * * * *      * * * * * *      * * * * * *

I'm also giving away a yarn-bombing diary for 2012 which I bought at the Pompidou
bookshop in Paris...

                                                    * * *
                                                       *

It's super duper fabulous and full of different yarn-bombing pics...

                                                * *
                                                       *

                                                   * *
                                                       *

And a few random crochet/knittery objet d'art... ;)

                                                             * *
                                                       *

                                              * *
                                                       *

So, what do you have to do to win this fine booty?

                                                             * *
                                                       *

Well, I would prefer it if you are a follower of 3 Sheets or 'like' the 3 Sheets
Facebook Page... but I'm flexible. This is my thank you to everyone who has
supported me through my 500 post journey.

                                                 * *
                                                       *

One more thing... if you only like, say, the diary and the cushion is not really your
thing (or vice versa!), then say so in your comment and I'll do a second random
pick for the other item if you win.

                                                          * *
                                                       *

Anyway, just leave a comment and I'll do the magic random generator trick on
Sunday 30th October. Good luck and thank you! :)

Thank you giveaway!

I'm so overwhelmed by your lovely responses to these pieces, I'm going to have a GIVEAWAY!
Let me know which one you prefer in the comments sections below and I'll do a random draw on Sunday 10th April.
I've decided the circles one does need to be cut in half, but let me know if you'd prefer the ant farm, sorry, the yellow and orange one full or cut in half, okay?

And thanks again for your wonderful encouragement :)

My Creative Space - Meterage

I'm playing along with Kirsty's My Creative Space meme today. Visit Kootoyoo to join in or to see other spaces.

Experimenting with meterage and wanting to try something simple and graphic; something suitable for lining perhaps. This is from a block I carved a couple of weeks ago now.

Originally, I wanted it to go with my other block - something to make it a bit more interesting, less twee... but now I'm thinking it stands alone pretty well :)

Of course, I couldn't resist trying it with that other block (I don't really like it I have to admit!). My Big Girl calls it the 'Bunny Ears' design.

Hope it's a good day for everyone. Don't forget I'm having a collar giveaway!

Winging it

The good thing about winging it is that you can discover so many new techniques and ways of playing with and constructing designs with fabric...

... it expands your understanding of fabric and process...

... you often learn what not to do next time...

...particularly when you suddenly realise you've created a maternity dress!

Would this be of use to anyone...? ...because I'm afraid it's going to be of no use to me ;)

Postscript: The dress has been claimed by a very lovely blogger who has just recently found out she's pregnant... I'm very happy about that :) I won't spoil her natal announcements... I'm sure you'll guess who soon :)

My Creative Space - Placing hexs

I'm playing along with Kirsty's meme My Creative Space this week. Visit Kootoyoo to see more or to play along yourself.

I haven't had the opportunity to do much crafting this week but I have finished crocheting all of my hexs for the blanket. I've laid them all out on the dining table in place and have my photo now so if they have to be moved I can see where colours should go again. And now begins the process of crocheting them all together..!

p.s. sorry for the bad photos - I just couldn't get high enough to take a complete shot ;)

p.p.s. I'm celebrating my first blogiversary with a giveaway. See the post below if you'd like to enter :)
