19 years... really?

How did that happen..? Why does that suddenly seem like such a surreal
amount of time? So, yes, 19 years ago the Mr and I married in New Farm
Park at the rose garden.
Friends brought along a mini keyboard and sang "There's Power in the
Union" and we had some wedding photos taken in the then-industrial area
of Teneriffe where all the empty Wool Store Warehouses stood like abandoned
skeletons amongst fields of debris and pampas grass! OMG, how 90s is this? :)

It's all a chi-chi riverside development now... actually, I went running along the
river walk there with my daughter this morning... Funny how life can turn full
circles sometimes :)
Okay, I'm rambling. I'll stop now.
Happy Labor Day!!!

(I'd love to see before and after satellite photos!)

Envy...

Nick Cave performing at All Tomorrow's Parties in Sydney in January this year. Picture pinched from the Sydney Morning Herald Good Weekend magazine, August 1st, 2009.

"There's not a thing about old age I recommend... Those glorious cardinal sins are taken away from you till you're left with nothing but envy."

I realise this isn't part of my unusual 3 sheets style, but hey, we're all 3-dimensional characters with loads of quirky bits. One of my quirks is I'm a big Nick Cave fan. I was just sitting out on the back deck in the sun reading the papers and this wonderful quote made me laugh out loud. I went to this concert in January at the Riverstage in Brisbane... what a performer. I've never seen someone be so generous with their audience. He's such a rock god! :)

40th anniversary

I've just been listening to the live recordings of the first Moon landing from 40 years ago on Radio National and I was incredibly moved. I actually cried! I was 2 years old when this happened, so no real memories were twigged or anything like that... Why is it such a moving moment still today do you think? Just so very special - maybe it's the spirit of the occasion; the thrill of going beyond our boundaries? I just love it :)
