My Creative Space - Helping Friends

My Creative Space isn't actually my work this week. This is the screenprinting work of our friend Michael and he popped over to get some help with finishing off this huge piece of fabric. I finished off the edges and sewed a loop at the top so it can be used as a curtain. Hardly creative, but hey it was nice to be able to help. Don't you just love the patterning he's created? I'm still working away on sewing my Green Bags and have been making a few more brooches.

Oh I love it Kylie, what a great pattern- it's very inspiring- will he be using it for something specific? He is a good artist apparently, but he is also lucky in his friends!
Have a great day,
Annamaria

See this is exactly why it is so good to catch up with new 'old' friends through creative spaces. It is so good to be 'speaking' to you again! By the way if I had a friend who made fabric like Michael, I would be happy to finish off the edges too.

Thanks everyone for your great comments! Michael has an installation happening soon and this curtain will be the backdrop. He's printed up the most divine screenprints on paper and I think he's about to go into fabric as well :) The curtain is actually printed on a painter's drop sheet (can you believe it!) - it looks great. I think Michael's sourcing some linen at the mo. He was very excited about Thea's linen and I pointed him to Rebecca's linen quest too. K x

Sounds like a great team effort... tabbed curtains have to be pretty creative, I think!

Love this design and colour combination - reminds me of Claude Viallat's work (who comes from our lovely village)
