It seems I just need to jump in and do it rather than wait for my brain to actually make a decision... and do you know I rather like working this way. I've printed up one of the tea towels with a block I carved a few months ago. Then I taped it up to the window and tried out all these different combinations of other screens I'd cut out... and I think I've finally found a design I'm happy with :)
... and this was all done during recovery mode from our very first teenager birthday pool party! They had a great time and I'm pleased to say I really like my daughter's friends :)
Love the look of that wood / lino block. The design look so cool in yellow on linen too!
ReplyDeleteArgh, a sleepover with that many children sounds exhausting! Fun, but exhausting. When we were in school my twin sister and I had best friends who were twins also. Come holidays our parents would just swap a kid! So they still had the same amount of children and an excuse for a coffee and a catch up when they swapped them back again. :)
it's beautiful! the detail in the stamp has come out really well.
ReplyDeletei'd like to see the final design :)
the pool party looks like fun!
Kylie, it's gorgeous! I love the color--yellow is one of my favorites--and the block print is awesome!
ReplyDeleteoh i love it ...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteand what a fun looking party. it's so great that you like her friends :)

ReplyDeleteI love the design and the colours. It looks like intuition won! It is great when we like our kids friends but a party is still exhausting. Enjoy the recovery!
ReplyDeleteLove the block print & the tea towel! Did you make the grey block too? It's a beautiful combination.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a massive pool party and hope you have some time to relax afterwards. :)
The colour combo is great. You've got me wanting to pull out the diy stamp block thingy I bought about 6 months ago and haven't touched yet! I love that you just go ahead and do something too. Gotta do that.
ReplyDeleteCool lino block, ace work there. Pool parties, excellent, great way to keep teens busy!! Love Posie
ReplyDeleteThe tea towel is an absolute winner. The colour combo is to die for and I love love love your designs. Intuition has definitely won out! Glad you found a way to unwind after the exciting pool party ;-) xx

Wow! I love the teatowel design! Sometimes going with the flow is just what you need.
ReplyDeleteThe party looks amazing - is that your pool? You lucky thing! x
I love the block print. It's such a lovely and intricate design, but you can do soooo much with it, and in soooo many shades and colours - awesome. Really love it! I can't imagine a teenage pool party... not having any children, but I do remember going to them when I was little, and they ROCKED! So from that side - excellent fun! I'm glad it was good for you too. he he. xo :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteNot only are your prints gorgeous - but how cool the party. My mum still has photos of my 13th birthday pool party in Buderim. I can remember the fun I had and the whole jumping in the pool thing together. Thanks for sharing both the designs and for the blast from the past ;-)
