New brooch

I've made a new brooch...

With yarn, felt, a metal sequin and a wooden button...

A friend of mine's been going through a rough time and I wanted to make
her something, so I started playing with a gorgeous yarn find.

I showed a peek of it before, it's another find from Purl Soho when I was
in New York... Alchemy's Silken Straw in the most amazing squid ink
kind of colour.

Hope she likes it.

It's beautiful K. (AS IS THAT DRESS BELOW!). Heartily impressed with this Month of Finishing bizzo - but mostly the way you go about things: original, unexpected, artful.

(That inky yarn is prompting a fluttery, dizzy sort of thing)

hey, i noticed your comment on renilde's blog that you want to go to the solarshop in antwerp, well they are not open on mondays... maybe you could write them and ask if you can make an appointment?

i'm sure she'll LOVE it Kylie. it's really lovely and you always put so much effort into every piece you make so who wouldn't be head over heels for anything from you : )

all those textural materials together are brilliant!

i commented back on the blog about your question but in case you didn't get it, i said "the circles were done in photoshop. most of the graphic elements used are either from that medium or illustrator. can't get enough of Adobe goodness". sometimes i change their appearances with levels and opacity, etc but they're real easy to make. nothing like the amount of time you put into tactile accomplishments like this that's for sure. xoox ♥
