Winging it

The good thing about winging it is that you can discover so many new techniques and ways of playing with and constructing designs with fabric...

... it expands your understanding of fabric and process...

... you often learn what not to do next time...

...particularly when you suddenly realise you've created a maternity dress!

Would this be of use to anyone...? ...because I'm afraid it's going to be of no use to me ;)

Postscript: The dress has been claimed by a very lovely blogger who has just recently found out she's pregnant... I'm very happy about that :) I won't spoil her natal announcements... I'm sure you'll guess who soon :)

I'm quite happy to say it'd be of no use to me either - but what a lovely dress - keep on trying to figure it out - I really like the cross over under the bust idea (altho with my generous bust that also wouldn't work!) - would look classic on a classic figure.

Great post! I think the dress is just lovely. Could it be one of those maternity into post-natal dresses? Very nice indeed, although I can't lay claim to it, not knowing if I'll have anymore babies. :)

Maternity, schmernity! What rot, woman - tie it at the front and it is only spiffy and snazzy and fabulous.

I am with Tania, tie it at the fronty and it looks lovely.

But yet again I am lusting after something in the background of your picture.

The eyes.

I LOVE the eyes.

ha ha, Kylie! No use to me either!! But can't you wear it with it tied around the front like in your photo? It's so beautiful. And I fully understand the school of winging it and learning for next time...I go to that school ;-)

beautiful dress and it suits the receiver so very well. She is a very dear friend of mine and you made her very happy. I am also glad to hear you and your family are fine and weren't caught up in the floods.
