Have I told you about our new friend? He just arrived one day and has stayed.
Funnily enough, this happens a bit here... cats just adopt us, don't know why ;)
Anyway, it's been three months since this gorgeous boy arrived and we're very
fond of him :)
He's also adopted one of my cushions (don't worry I've pulled it from the shop!)
I'd kind of already decided I was going to keep this one for myself as it was the
first one I made and special to me for that...
Anyway.... I also seem to be making a habit of missing anniversaries...
April 10th marked my third year of blogging and of 3 Sheets.
So, better late than never I'm going to have a giveaway.
These two matching crochet triangle cushions will be the prize. It's open to both
local and international peeps, but I would like you to be either a follower of the
3 Sheets blog or the 3 Sheets facebook page.
What do you think? Would you like these cushions? Tell your friends!
Winner randomly selected on Sunday 6th May :)

Creative Spaces: Crazy brooches
I'm joining in Our Creatives Spaces this week. Visit here to sign up or see other spaces.
I've been super busy since finishing my crochet order. There's so much to
catch up on, but it's been heavenly to take time to dabble with things as I
feel like it... I've been dabbling with some old Indian embroidered fabric and
making it into brooches.
It's brought out the Bollywood-Baroque in me I think... or some kind of brazen
beading-mad hussy ;)
This one (below) is a reject. I really did go just a teensy bit crazy with the beading
here. I hadn't realised before that good beading is actually an exercise in restraint!
I think it was finding a scrap of orange leather... sent me a bit wild! :))
I'll be unpicking and cutting and re-doing soon.
Beading-hussy approved brooches will go into my shop soon.
Hope you've had a wonderfully creative week :)
UPDATE: Okay, so reject brooch now looks like this....
and there's a new cream one that looks like this...
AND YAH! I finally have some new listings in my shop! :)

Last night
We went to see the HooDoo Gurus at The Tivoli last night and they were
amazing - great energy and plenty of take-me-back memories.
But the real treat (for me anyway!) was discovering the 5678s...
FABULOUS!
If you want to see them, I think there are still tickets for the Sydney
and Melbourne concerts :)
(This is the first time I've downloaded a video from my iPhone!)

Creative Space: Finished Crazy Chevron
You might remember this crochet design... It wasn't chosen for the shop order
but it was still liked by some. In fact, someone liked it so much they're getting
it for their birthday :)
I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but the shop order is almost finished!
I have finished crocheting the front panels, have washed and blocked them
and waiting for them to dry. I've also pre-shrunk the linen and waiting for that
to dry too.
Anyway, it was a good project to do while waiting for all this drying ;)
Hope you've had a creative week? Find more spaces here.

Doodle wrap
I had to send off a birthday parcel. I thought brown paper with letter stamps might
look good... but no, it looked not-so-good. So I started doodling on the wrapping
thinking about these gorgeous kids and their personalities.
I always think of Bree as a child of nature...
And Ella is the most exquisite ethereal girl...
It made me realise how much I miss drawing.
The designs aren't 'finished' by any means, but they've given me some ideas
for a new pattern. So I'm happy now... very :)

Inspiration :)
Loving this fabulous video (via Hearted Girl) from Canadian ideas company Rethink.
I think I'll be viewing this again and again every time I feel 'stuck' ;) Very inspirational.

Yes please!
There's a workshop on offer by The People's Print at the V&A's approaching British
Design Season... The Great British Floral digital workshop.
They are going to show those lucky attendees a combination of hand craft and digital
techniques to create a floral pattern and print it on fabric.
I'm trying to keep very neutral here but I'm positively burning with envy...
I want to go! Unfortunately, I'm on the other side of the globe :(
If you happen to live nearby, you can register for the workshop by visiting
this site... and if you go, can you take loads of pictures and show all the fab
things you did.. please?
I'd love to see :)

Easter break
We've been on the road... away on a fabulous Easter break with some friends.
Have you been to or heard of Girraween National Park? What an amazing place.
It's a bit more than 3 hours drive from Brisbane, travelling south-west to Warwick
and then South to the border of Queensland and New South Wales...
We had a ball, beginning with walks around Girraween National Park itself and
it's incredible landscape of bush and granite boulders...
I am usually such a city person... this is just to prove I was actually there ;)
We went on drives around the area to other walks, including Bald Rock
National Park in New South Wales.
The climb almost killed me but once at the top it was magnificent :)
This is at the top of the rock. It drops off at a (just) walkable slope, but from the
right angle it looks like a sheer drop.
The kids pretended to be falling off the 'edge'.
Fabulous friends made it even more of a fantastic time.
It was so clear and sunny all weekend and I took every opportunity to crochet
whenever we weren't exploring the environment.
What did you get up to? Hope you had a great Easter break too :)

Our Creative Spaces: Long time no see
I'm still frantically crocheting my cushion order... Sorry I haven't been around lately.
I have, however, found a brooch to show you that I came across while looking for
some yarn in my craft room.
Hello old friend! I remember you...
I was planning a whole series of these brooches and they were put on hold in
all this busy-ness. I will be making more, probably next month though.
In the meantime, this one has come along at just the right moment for a friend's
birthday :)
