I decided to make my Atomic design less labour-intensive (I always block
printed it before) and had a screen burned.
I've been itching to try it out for ages. Unfortunately, I rushed the job.
Note to self: a bit of patience is worth it in the end ;)
I'm now thinking a bit of over-embroidery upcycling might save the day :)
That would look amazing. The best things always are born of mistakes.
ReplyDeleteHi Kylie, found your blog today via Gretchenmist. Love all your crochet work.
ReplyDeleteI am so scared to try 2 colour prints in case of ruining the fluke of the first one working! However seeing this makes it look like you meant to keep the black fadey because the yellow is so strong. Maybe a little embroidery around the outside will frame some of the shapes and leave shading inside. Very exciting for you to have a screen burnt tho xx
ReplyDeleteI love that atomic print. LOVE.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I reckon a spot of embroidery would not only fix it but enhance it.
Doesn't bother me as it is, at all, but I'm always a fan of adding embroidery!
ReplyDeleteLove the design, it looks fantastic, and embroidery will make it look even better
ReplyDeleteCreativity comes at that cost I am afraid- but usually, it is all one parcel with learning more, and doing even greater things the next time around- love the design-
ReplyDelete:) xx
SO stunning even with the rush. x hivenn
ReplyDeleteI like it still! I know what you mean about rushing a print job. I'm actually looking into having someone else print my work onto fabric to save on swear words and cleaning screens with bleach and my shower head. :) Your work is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's wrong or what's the fail. It looks good to me! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the mustard color!
It is going to look brilliant once you've worked out the kinks. I'd love to try my hand at screen printing, such a world of possibilities x
ReplyDeleteLooks great to me!
