Crafty weekend

Being part of the Commonwealth, we have a lovely little holiday every June called the Queen's Birthday holiday. I'm not sure why but it always comes as a surprise in this family - it's a nice little treat just before school holidays and it happened yesterday. So, what can you do with an extra day to your weekend? Well, my Big Girl and I did some crafting. I have a few projects on the run at the moment but I suddenly needed to do some embroidery... and the BG taught herself how to blanket stitch her pin cushion together. We had fun :) What did you get up to?

  13. Interesting that you celebrate the Queen's birthday in June. In Canada, we celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday in May.

  14. wow Kylie your stitchery is absolutely gorgeous!!! I love it soooo much and how clever is your Big Girl, her pincushion is brilliant! She has done such wonderful work. I think your blog makeover looks fab it really fits in so well with your header. I must say too Lolly Gobble Bliss Bombs were a treat in our house too in the 70s I saw them and bought them a few years ago and to me they just were not the same at all, still sweet but a lot of salt or something? added to them, just not what I remember

  15. I am totally loving your appliques - so colourful - I feel very inspired!! Big Girl is so clever!

How is it a commonwealth country gets the Queens birthday as a holiday and yet we Brits don't?! Puzzled me for years!

Great music - I love the song (except it reminds me of the mobile phone company advert!) Lol
