Our Creative Spaces: Mag Hag

It's true... I do admit it... I'm a mag hag. I just love them. It's an expensive
habit but worth it I think. Every so often, they pile up though and I need to
sort out the keepers from the fluff. This is my current pile.

My creative space this week has been all about organisation... sorting,
shifting and throwing. It's taken me an age to go through these magazines.
Some of them are automatic 'keepers' - fabulous resources that I don't think
I'll ever be able to throw away. The others, I look through every single one
to see if there's anything I want to keep.  I'm about half way there. I have a
pile of clippings which I'll then sort into folders...

Hmm, starting to feel a bit OCD here ;) Hope you've had a wonderfully
creative week. More creative spaces over here

Caravan love

I've just been leafing through the August issue of World of Interiors and came across this gorgeous and impossibly romantic Vickers Caravan, circa 1977.... are you in love? I am :) What is it about these intimate spaces that attract us? I see my youngest daughter still making cubby houses under desks with blankets etc and recognise that same need. Is it Virgina Woolf's room of one's own? It must be some romantic yearning in the psyche... it's certainly common enough for the owners of this caravan to make a nice living out of renting it in its Cornwall resting place. ;) I just love all the finishing touches - so cute! Did you see the Charles + Diana mug in the cabinet?! There's even a fireplace! You can find this little beauty here for more info.

If I had all the money in the world...

from Vol.8, the work of Laura Normandin

... I would buy a subscription of this book series for all of you! Such is the extent of my love here, I want everyone to share in this gorgeousness! :) Lines & Shapes is the independent design collective who publish this series, curated by artists Maria Vettese and Lena Corwin. Each issue features a different visual 'jumping off point' and the artists submit their individual interpretations of the theme. Last year they published six volumes and they have four planned for this year. They also offer special book bundles where you can choose any 3 from the collection for a set price (I bought volumes #5, 7 and 8!) Sorry I can't get them for you, but please have a look. Their website can be found here and the special 3-book bundle page is here. Enjoy!

It's here!

Look what's just arrived on my doorstep! Peppermint Magazine #3 is out and, even though I haven't had a chance to read through all of it yet, it's looking pretty fab. Loads of bloggers and their work are featured too. If you haven't heard of Peppermint yet, it's Australia's first eco fashion mag, printed right here in Brisbane :) Go to Twitter to find out more or check out their website later (it's in the process of being re-done at the moment).
