Colour blocking

I've decided on the colour combination for this commission.

I took out the black and the charcoal - I think they were just
too heavy and the dark grey here is more than enough of a
tonal balance.

Then, while taking some pics, I started playing with colour trios.
It's funny how they suddenly resemble flags.

It's fun playing with colour :)
Looking forward to a colourful week actually - how about you?

I think they look great and when you mentioned flags... yes, I suddenly thought they do... nautical flags! So I googled it for you, see link below - maybe it can provide inspiration or perhaps you have or can put hidden messages into them!

Oh my goodness Kylie, I think this is my favourite combo soo far, I loved it before, but with the dark colours removed it's just stunning ( and I didn't even realise it before)
ANd yes know that you mention it, I do see the flag likeness xo

They do look like flags!

I think you've got just the right combo. I like how the red is front and center and the other more muted colors compliments it.

They are so perfect and so neat! The weekend is over now, I am so slow! But it was a great one spent catching up with friends and family. Have a great week.

Great pics, they instantly reminded me of nautical flags too. Love the idea of putting a hidden message in there. Very funny.

Colour is loads of fun think Kylie!
I'm painting today and looking at some oil on paper works which, last week were accidentally drenched in tea coloured water.
My palette is usually bright but I kinda like how these 4 knocked back paintings look...what to do?

Just beautiful Kyile! The brown triangle, or if it's the three in the middle togheter who makes so great. I like :)

That works 100% - The one brown triangle in the middle the middle spot on. Magic again Kylie ;)

I swear you must make triangles in your sleep! And imagine what would happen if someone gave you a Pantone swatch book...

I really love your work, I do. Can I just say that sometimes I don´t want to linger on your site because of the audio you have put behind it? After hearing it once it gets on my nerves every time I come here again! Maybe you can do something with this comment. Otherwise I really love coming here to see what you do!!
