Greener grass

I couldn't tell you why exactly, but whenever I have things I absolutely must get done I come up with ideas for other things that take me running away in another direction entirely... Is it a grass is greener syndrome? I should be doing my silversmithing course homework... I really want to do it actually... but then I found myself doing this...

... I suddenly became obsessed with designing a continuous pattern for screenprinting. I pencilled up the grid and used my protractor thingy for the circles. As you can tell, this is very scientific for me ;) While cutting the last two circles I decided it was going to be a bit too technical-looking so I started cutting some creative anarchy into it ;) Next screenprinting trials... Here's hoping it all works together fine in the end. Knowing me though, something else will draw me away in another direction... :)

Wow! That is one gorgeous design Kylie, I love it. I am really looking forward to seeing how it translates to a print. How's your hand after all that cutting? And yes, I totally understand that crafty grass is greener syndrome. X

Thanks Kate :) and yes, my hand is killing me! Kx

Wow wow wow! Amazing detail - I agree, sore hands must be the accompaniment :)
Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

That looks fab even before you've printed anything!

Oh yes, the grass always seems greener!
Gotta do creative stuff when you feel like it - definately!x

Oh please don't go off in another direction until you have this all printed up and available to buy...It is absolutely stunning, Kylie and the anarchy in it just makes it more so x

I'm impressed by your patience in cutting all that! Just one tip, if you do a repeat, don't cut a motif in half. You have to work around them - even if the edge isn't straight. Oh dear, am I making sense?

amazing!!! you are so very patient.

I think sometimes creativity just spawns more creativity and it's hard to keep up. Love the design, looking forward to seeing it completed ... whenever that may happen. :)

love this! especially the part where you let loose!
the greener syndrome sound very familiar . . . working sparks ideas for more work, it can't be helped :)

I love the anarchy! and always think it best! he he. Seriously, the break in the pattern is gorgoeus - gives it life and movement. Yummy. And I KNOW what you mean about getting sidetracked. Don't know what to say - I have not found the answer, or solution for it. Have a fab week! xo K

I am exactly the same Kylie. That design has me aflutter, seriously. It's gorgeous and I think it's the anarchy that takes it from good to great. You are truly awesome. x

I know the addiction of cutting those particular patterns into a screen print stencil. I've been there myself and could not stop.

Well, I think you're tangential but completely inspired! Wonderful. Procrastinate away, K, if it means such gorgeous designing.
