My Creative Space - Another Frock

It seems I'm obsessed with making frocks at the moment. This is the Swiss Cotton jacquard dress I started a couple of weeks ago now. I french-seamed the entire dress which was a fabulous learning experience... only problem is I didn't allow for the extra fabric this entails and it's now quite a bit too small for me to wear ;) If none of my friends want it I think I'll have a giveaway... stay tuned! There are many more creative spaces to be found at Kirsty's - visit Kootoyoo to see more or to play along yourself :)

It's gorgeous Kylie! You've done a superb job. Such a shame about the sizing but yes...a great learning experience.

It looks gorgrous, what a shame about the sizing.

I just cut out a skirt & then realised I hadn't added the seam allowances (curse those vintage burda patterns!)

what a pity about it being too small after all your work.

What a darn shame - it's such a lovely dress and looks fab for humid Brissie weather. Well done on the wonderful discipline of French seams though - I'm impressed!

OH Kylie, it's stunning. What a shame, I wish there was some special enlarging technique I knew. xo

Oh no all that effort and it doesn't fit! It is rather beautiful! Is there no way you can let it out a little?

What a pretty summer dress (just popped across from Kirsty's 'creative space' and I'm loving your blog). I'm a total virgin when it comes to sewing clothes so although yours may be a bit snug it's still super dooper. Love it, Lucy xox PS I'm just reworking my own and am inspired by your header - very funky.

Oh dear - it looks lovely all the same - well done on tackling the french seams. Would you wear it with a pair of tights?

Oh NO! It is gorgeous. An amazing learning experience but such a shame not to enjoy it. Why not hold on to it for one of your girls.
