I've been making some more brooches... playing around with some ideas. The fimo ideas are starting to come together but I do have to get better at the ol' fimo manipulation. Those dints on the black + white cloud are not a good look ;) Anyway, it's all fun. Happy Creative Spaces everyone! You can find more creative spaces at Kirsty's here.
so clever! there was a photo that i wished i could have taken this morning for you {sorry, didn't have the camera on me}, of the concrete in dark grey and the adjoining concrete fence, in light grey and a fallen flower in bright pink red . . . the lines and patches and bursts of colour reminded me of your brooch designs :)
Gosh your so freaking cleveR! I LOVE the addition of FEMO! The green and wgite one remonds me of a truck or train, and the cloud is SUPER CUTE! Keep at it...........cant wait to purchase one of these on your shop when its up!
Good for you for taking on a new project, out of the comfort zone.... and for being prepared that things might not be perfect (in your eyes)... yet! They are very cute and the black, green and white look great together.
love the use of fimo! Is that a cloud shape that inspired the black and white one? Just adorable- Lovely work Kylie- I can see sharing a studio space with you and me doing my small ATC's and you doing your brooches and lots of coffee in between- hmmm- Annamaria xx
You have such a playful and creative approach to this brooch-making caper. I love it Kylie. And wow, fimo, that takes me back. I used to make fimo things but always felt like I never quite achieved my fimo potential :-)
Hey Kylie - these are looking awesome. I have a couple of Fimo tips though, hopefully they might help :)
1. Roll your Fimo on a ceramic tile - that way you can put it straight into the oven and it saves you having to 'lift' the clay and get fingerprints in it.
2. Use a couple of ice-lolly sticks (stick a few together for extra height) on either side of the clay when you're rolling - this means that the clay will stay the same thickness all the across.
Good luck with it - I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
you have been busy kylie, gorgeous! i see you are reading paris made by hand, and? thinking of getting it. you must be not far away of going to paris. x

Your brooches are works of art, Kylie. I love them. I also love the idea of fabric vases in your post from yesterday. Cheerio, Woollywotnots.
I love the patchworky nature of your brooches Kylie. They are beautiful
