Thanks so much for all your lovely comments last week about my banksia stencil!
Nothing really new this week for MCS – I've just been playing with the prints and screenprinting I did last week. With the print, I wanted to create a mixed media piece but this is still work in progress because well... it's bloody hard! Ooops, no don't report my blog please! :) Just getting the balance and selection right has been so challenging. Anyway, when I couldn't look at the paper any longer I was embroidering and beading a new brooch. This one has a base screenprint from the same banksia stencil from last week that really didn't work. So I decided to spruce it up a bit with some colour and texture. I like it - a bit gothic, isn't it?! Oh, and I put a heart in there for you, Kirsty!
P.S. (I've got a Paying it Forward going on - see just below this post. Feel like playing?)

Love the brooch - the bits sticking out form the top look like little branches... and i love your new header!!
I just love it and I am sure so many chests out there are heaving with anticipation of being adorned with your finery.
Looks like you have been having fun!
If I wasn't already trying to finish my PIF pressies, I would join, but then keep ending up at the bottom of the list and I am feeling very naughty and must finish them!
:)
Lovely brooch!! I love the colours in your space today :)
I love your sunburst project and the detailing in that brooch is to die for.......and I hope this commenting works
I love the brooch, Not goth at all. Bet it's sparkles, just a little bit. :)
The brooch looks gorgeous and lots of hard work. It's a fabulous result from reusing something else that didn't quite work out properly... or perhaps this was meant to happen after all?!
Some serious embroidery dedication there...it's really lovely Kylie :-)
Good work Kylie. Push through, if it's difficult, the results will be worth it. Your stuff is beautiful.
PS. I am already involved in a pay it forward. Thanks anyway. I thought you had to wait to receive your gift before you paid it forward though. Better check that one out, I could be in trouble!
Love the yellow and white in your space! I'm always happy to see some printing, since I'm delving into that myself.
What a great print. I love that zingy yellow and the grey together, beautiful.
Kylie your brooch is beautiful. I love the colours and the iggledy piggledy-ness of it. Does that make sense?
